Abstract

Primate teeth have been used to gain many insights into primate behavior and evolution. However, the often indecipherable terminology in those analyses has limited the accessibility and general understanding of that work. This chapter presents a brief review of primate incisors, canines, premolars, and molars in order to give a glimpse of what we know about them and how they are employed by humans and by our closest living relatives.
