Digital Technology and Social Policy: Social Justice in a World of Anywhere Access?
Abstract
This chapter traces the influence of technology on social policy over the past 15 years from the information age to the digital revolution of today. Critical themes in the development of social policy include globalization, social acceptance of technology, empowerment and privacy issues, and information access and authenticity. Predictions for social work practice up to the year 2022 offer the hope of social justice with the future use of technology.
