Abstract

Stress screening is a process used by manufacturers to minimize the risk of delivering products with latent defects that may cause failure in service. It is particularly applicable to low-volume products with manual intervention in final assembly and where the consequences of service failure can be severe. This article explains the background to stress screening and how to go about determining the need for and establishing the test conditions for maximum benefit.
