Dorothy Reed, a Johns Hopkins medical graduate and house officer, performed her classic studies on Hodgkin's disease as a Fellow in Pathology (Reed DM. 1902. On the pathological changes in Hodgkin's disease, with especial reference to its relation to tuberculosis. Johns Hopkins Hosp. Rep. 10: 133–196). In her autobiography, she stated that Osler was the greatest teacher she had ever known (Bliss, 1999).
