Abstract

Fabrication of low dimensional structures of II–VI compounds as nanoparticles and elongated structures, such as nanowires or nanotubes, is a subject of increased interest due to their potential use in different technological applications. The aim of this work is the obtention of low dimensional structures of ZnSe and ZnO by thermal deposition and by mechanical milling and to study their electronic and optical properties, which are often different from those of the corresponding bulk materials and may find applications in nanoscale electronics and optics.
