Abstract

Complex polariton dispersion relations were studied in the nearly stoichiometric lithium niobate crystals grown by the double crucible Czochralski method using the terahertz (THz) time domain spectroscopy. The intensity and phase delay of transmitted THz radiation have been accurately measured for the propagation along the x-axis from 0.1 to 2.3 THz. The dispersion relation of phonon-polariton frequency and damping factor have been determined for A1(z) and E(x,y) symmetry polaritons. (© 2004 WILEY-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim)
