Abstract

We study theoretically the resonant interaction of surface-localized modes with acoustic phonons injected from a substrate into a SL with a free surface at an angle. We calculate the frequency dependence of reflectance and examine the mode conversion generated by the localized modes in the different types of frequency gaps. In particular, we predict a “perfect” resonant reflection inside frequency gaps in which intermode Bragg reflections occur. (© 2004 WILEY-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim)
