Compact band notched ultra-wideband antenna using the Hilbert-curve slot
Abstract
A compact band notched ultra-wideband (UWB) antenna with the Hilbert-curve slot (HCS) is proposed. By introducing the HCS on the UWB antenna, a compact size and the frequency notch function can be simultaneously obtained. On imprinting the HCS on the UWB antenna, the notched 5 GHz wireless local area network (WLAN) band was realized. As for the HCS implementation, we make use of the third iteration order Hilbert-curve. Numerical simulations and measurements for the proposed antenna demonstrate that the presented methodology is accurate and efficient to design the compact band notched UWB antenna. © 2011 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
