Abstract

A planar rectangular split ring shaped band-pass structure is proposed and analyzed by coupled line equivalent circuit instead of commonly used LC resonator circuit. The derived results were then used to design two- and three-cascaded rectangular split ring shape structures. Two prototypes were both designed at center frequency at 2.45 GHz, simulated by microwave simulators: IE3D and microwave office, and fabricated on FR-4 substrate. The simulated and experimental results show good agreement within 0–10 GHz. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
