Abstract

Two types of bandpass filters using fractal-shaped triangular resonators are proposed and optimized in this article. By using etched fractal-shaped defected structures in the triangular patch resonators, the filters have remarkable advantages, such as compact size, high selectivity, and simple structure. The effects of varying the parameters of the fractal-shaped structures have been studied. Measured results of the filter using three fractal-shaped structures agree well with the simulated ones. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
