Abstract

A denial of service (DoS) attack is an attempt to shut down or prevent access to information or services from fulfilling a legitimate request from your computer and its network connection, such as a banking account or online e-mail account. Often DoS attacks occur when an attacker “floods” a network with endless requests for information, overloading the server.
