Summary

This case study research represents a telecom industry where the consumption of energy is constantly increasing due to growing amount of transferred data. The comparison of the energy efficiency between 5G versus 4G networks is studied by using network data analysis. One of the biggest challenges is to ensure the energy consumed by 4G/5G radio networks does not increase at the same rate as data flows. The study also touches an important issue of how real-time data of system's components can be applied to improve energy efficiency of 5G network, edge computing, and customer industrial processes.
