Summary

Emergence of COVID-19 has negatively affected human health, lives, and the global economy. It has highlighted the problems in existing healthcare system especially in handling of public emergencies inadequately and this compelled healthcare industry to look for newer methods, innovations, and technologies to control and monitor the corona virus. Accurate data is required for taking measures to prevent from any kind of virus and blockchain technology plays a vital role in providing such up-to-date information helpful in tracking and controlling the spread of virus ranging from providing reliable supplies to data provenance . This paper will be divided into four sections, first section will discuss about blockchain technology and its role in healthcare. Further, in second section will discuss about various current and potential applications of blockchain technology in healthcare and subsequently it will explain how usage of blockchain technology in healthcare sector reviving the industry capabilities. At last, various challenges of blockchain technology in healthcare and future research guidelines will be discussed.
