Summary

Acute appendicitis remains a common emergency clinical presentation that can affect patients of all ages. This chapter aims to provide an overview of the disease process, its clinical presentation, diagnostic work-up and management. Additionally, conditions which can present similarly to acute appendicitis are discussed. The chapter concludes with a section on Meckel's diverticulitis.
