Summary

This chapter provides a process for learning about global needs of an organization, an online orientation, and a process to use for successfully facilitating a team-building session (or any other topic) as a guide from afar. A corporate global survey is a strategy to facilitate a virtual discussion to learn about global needs. A virtual discussion allows everyone around the globe to attend, and provides information and direction to the organization. A find it activity is a way to assist employees in getting to know a company's intranet or Internet. It can be done virtually, synchronously, or asynchronously. Facilitating from afar is a strategy to keep participants engaged when they are together, but the facilitator is at a remote location and cannot see the participants. The chapter discusses the strategies with some case examples.
