Summary

Closings need as much attention as openings with a focus on content. A well-delivered closing may incorporate a review of the content, ensure that expectations were met, and confirm that the knowledge and skills is transferred to the workplace; evaluation; a shared group experience; and an appropriate send-off with a positive message. This chapter discusses participants, procedures, variations and case examples for different strategies that include review, remember, relate, and recall strategy, which is a quick way to summarize a learning event, make them stick strategy to capture how people apply what they learn, choose and choose again strategy to review key ideas in which the participants choose the best idea while reviewing key points in a presentation, and a concept challenge strategy that allows fun competition and a light review.
