Summary

Human beings make up organizations, create their culture, and determine the effectiveness of the organizations. One of the great opportunities that individuals have for development in large organizations is the opportunity to serve on a cross-functional team. Feeling valued is a strategy to help team members remember the importance of demonstrating interest in others. Teamwork in history is a strategy to encourage a team to review the fine line that exists between behaviors that create a successful team and those that destroy success. Building a trusting team is a strategy that explores building trust on a team. A feedback is a strategy that provides feedback to the team. A most valuable player (MVP) award is a strategy that is designed to help learners understand what they can do to improve their team's effectiveness. This chapter discusses the strategies with case examples.
