Abstract

Although the term crisis is frequently used, it refers to an event which a person is unable to resolve on their own. This chapter discusses the trends in crisis intervention, the prevalence and impact of emotional trauma, evidence-based crisis intervention and the Roberts' model, a historical background of crisis intervention and challenges in using evidence-based crisis intervention.
