Abstract
In this chapter, the use of X-ray magnetic circular dichroism for determining element-selective magnetic properties of materials is discussed. After briefly explaining the origin of the effect, its use for the determination of quantitative and element-selective magnetic moments, element-selective hysteresis loops, and magnetic imaging is illustrated with typical examples.
