Farbig: Die Protein-Arginin-Desiminasen gehören zu einer Enzymfamilie, die posttranslationale Histonmodifikationen und die folgenden Änderungen der Genexpression katalysiert. Ein Verfahren, das zu Änderungen der Fluoreszenz im sichtbaren Spektrum führt, ermöglicht die visuelle Detektion der katalytischen Aktivität. Die Verwendung verschiedener Fluorophore (siehe Bild) erlaubt die simultane Vielfarben-Verfolgung einer Mischung Histon-modifizierender Enzyme.
