Gussform für Cluster: Tris(ethylzink)phosphazenate haben eine schalenförmige Koordinationsoberfläche aus drei Lewis-sauren EtZn-Einheiten und drei Lewis-basischen N-Atomen. Diese Oberfläche ist die perfekte Gussform für planare {(ZnO)3}-Ringe und hexagonale {(ZnO)6}-Prismen. Die Zinkoxidcluster entstanden in situ bei der Umsetzung von Phosphazenhydraten mit Diethylzink.
