Subsequent analysis of our DT40 subclone ′E del, thought to carry a deletion of the immunoglobulin light chain ′enhancer, has revealed that the removal of the neomycin gene by CRE-mediated recombination appears to have been unsuccessful. From our data it is therefore not possible to draw conclusions regarding the importance of the 3'enhancer with respect to gene expression and gene conversion. Our results regarding the removal of the matrix attachment region and the importance of the transcription factor E47 in regulating gene conversion remain unaffected.
