2-(2,4,6-Tri-tert-butylphenyl)-1-arsaethyne—the First Compound Containing an Arsenic–Carbon Triple Bond
Abstract
An AsC bond and otherwise only C and H—that is no metal—are present in the title compound 3. It was prepared from the acid chloride 1 and the arsenide 2, which is readily accessible from tris(trimethylsilyl)arsane. 3 is pale yellow and crystalline, and melts at 114–116°C (R = 2,4,6-tBu3C6H2).
