Die Abscheidungsmorphologie der Lithiummetallanode beeinflusst die Lebensdauer von Lithiumbatterien. In ihrer Zuschrift auf S. 7817 schlagen Q. Zhang et al. einen Mechanismus vor, bei dem die Art und Weise der Lithiumabscheidung durch ihren geschwindigkeitsbestimmenden Schritt kontrolliert wird: Während ein diffusionskontrollierter Prozess tendenziell die dendritische Lithiumabscheidung begünstigt, führt der reaktionskontrollierte Prozess zu einer sphärischen Lithiumabscheidung.
