Graphical Abstract

Geordnete graphitische Kohlenstoffnanoschichten (GCNs) wurden durch direkte Kondensation von multifunktionalen Phenylacetyl-Monomeren in Anwesenheit von Phosphorpentoxid synthetisiert. J.-B. Baek et al. zeigen in ihrer Zuschrift auf S. 11796, dass die GCNs ein geordnetes hexagonales Kohlenstoffgitter mit nanoskaligen, zufällig verteilten Lochdefekten sowie Sauerstoffgruppen aufweisen. Ihre Struktur erzeugt und stabilisiert Spins, was zu Paramagnetismus führt.
