Als Vorstufe für eine Radikalkettenkaskade liefern N-Acylcyanamide Amid-Iminyl-Radikale, die – bei geeigneter Substitution – schließlich zu Pyrrolochinazolinen reagieren können. Die Vielseitigkeit dieser neuen Radikalacceptoren belegen die Bildung von N-Heterocyclen mit einer breiten Strukturvielfalt und die Totalsynthese von Luotonin A.
