Reviewer-CME

CME Credits for Reviewers

The American College of Rheumatology (ACR) in partnership with Wiley now offers continuing medical education (CME) credit for peer review of manuscripts submitted to all ACR journals. Peer reviewers may request 3.0 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ per original manuscript being reviewed.

Eligibility Considerations

Only reviews received on time and judged as satisfactory by the Editor responsible for the review delegation will be eligible for CME credit. To receive credit, review submissions must also meet the following criteria:

  • The manuscript being reviewed must be an original contribution to the medical literature that requires multiple reviewers. Editorial materials, biographical papers, case reports and similar manuscripts will not be eligible to receive credit.
  • The review must be at a depth and scope that requires review of literature and knowledge of the evidence base for the manuscript reviewed.
  • Reviews eligible for credit will be evaluated to ensure comments are specific, accurate, complete, useful in recommendations to both editors and authors, consistent, timely, and mindful of the needs of readers and the medical community as a whole.
  • Reviewers may only claim CME credit once per manuscript. Credit claims for additional rounds of review will be rejected.

Submissions and credit claims are subject to review and approval by journal staff.
