Video shows schematic methodology laser-based photodynamic endoscopic diagnosis (LPDED) after 5-aminolevulinic acid intake from early gastric cancer and adenoma in a representative case. Using the prototyped endoscopic system (SieP2) by processor modification with enhancement of the blue light output power, the emitted pinkish fluorescence could be captured in vivo as well as ex vivo in the resected specimen by endoscopic submucosal dissection without systematic band pass filter. Magnifying endoscopic observation with the blue-light (LPDED) mode showed that the fluorescent signal appeared in the cytoplasm of the tumor cells.
