Dear Dr DiBartola and Dr Hinchcliff,

Thank you for giving us the opportunity to respond to Dr Watson's letter. We very much agree with Dr Watson that, at this point, there is no indication that autoimmune pancreatitis in cats, which we also suspect exists, is related to IgG 4. This is why we stated: “The presence of IgG4-staining cells in the pancreas and incidence of circulating antibodies against the pancreas have not been established in cats, but response to immunosuppressive therapy with chronic pancreatitis may suggest an immune-mediated etiology in some cats.”1

Thank You!
