An insightful reader, Dr. Ernest Simon, noted the following error. Although the error is unfortunate, the authors feel it does not affect the interpretation of the original article or the editorial.
On page 1186 of the manuscript and page 1165 of the editorial the anticoagulant/preservative solution was erroneously listed as “saline-ADENOSINE-glucose-mannitol”. The correct composition should be “saline-ADENINE-glucose-mannitol”.
