An outbreak of its'

Some of our readers may have noticed an unfortunate outbreak of its' in the journal (February 2002). The grammatically incorrect word was introduced prior to printing, due to an error at the final editing stage. The publishers apologise for this.

However, errors such as these could have been picked up by the authors when they received page proofs and the occurrence of such incidents do illustrate the importance of this stage of the process.

We would like thank those who have brought this to our attention and we will continue to keep a vigilant eye on the content and use of grammar in the British Journal of Haematology.
