ChemInform Abstract

Haloalkanes are synthesized by selective radical reactions in multiphase systems from unactivated saturated hydrocarbones which may be linear, branched, polycyclic, strained and unstrained. The phase-transfer system avoids overfunctionalization of the products. The present new method is the only way for direct preparative iodination of alkanes.
