ChemInform Abstract

Reductive cleavage of diselenides (I) with hydroxymethanesulfinate in the presence of perfluoralkyl iodides directly generates the perfluoroalkyl selenoethers (III). Derivative (IIIc) is easily converted to the selenyl chloride (IV) by elemental chloride.
