ChemInform Abstract

Cross-coupling reaction of organozinc reagents derived from β-amidoalkyl iodides (I) and (VI) proceeds in good yields in the presence of catalytic CuBr2×SMe2 to furnish β- or γ-unsaturated ethylamines (III), (V) and (VII). The reactions of the corresponding zinc—copper reagents, in situ generated by reaction of the organozinc reagents with stoichiometric CuCN×2LiCl, proceed with lower yields probably due to the instability of these compounds [cf. (IIIa)].
