ChemInform Abstract

A facile one-pot synthesis of cycloalkane derivatives (III) and (V)/(VI) is presented, involving the reaction of lithiated allyl phenyl sulfone (II) with epoxymesylates (I) or (IV). Formation of higher cycloalkanes (-Z- > -CH2-) proceeds with excellent cis-selectivity.
