ChemInform Abstract

The reaction of 7-aminocephalosporanic acid (I), adsorbed on basic alumina, with heterocyclic acids (II) under microwave irradiation, affords the N-acylated cephalosporin derivatives (III) in yields higher than those obtained by conventional heating. Some of the products show significant antibacterial properties.
