Key steps in the synthesis of title compound (IX) are the nucleophilic SNAr-reaction of an activated benzoate derivative such as (V) with the bibenzylphenyl ether (IV) to give the diether (VI) and a macrocyclization via a Ni-mediated intramolecular coupling reaction of dichloride (VII) under optimized conditions.
