ChemInform Abstract

In order to develop a (Z)-stereoselective synthesis of the title compounds the Peterson reaction between a series of azabicyclooctan-3-ones (I) and isoxazole (II) is investigated. In all cases, the (Z)-product (III) is the predominant isomer. Especially high selectivity is obtained by insertion of a bulky substituent like phenylsulfanyl α to the carbonyl group.
