ChemInform Abstract

The key step in the synthesis of the optically active title compounds such as (V) and (VII) is the introduction of the azide. Other solvents than DMSO such as DMF, HMPA, acetonitrile, dioxane, ethanol, and THF are not useful for that reaction. The starting materials are obtained via a lipase-mediated reaction [for (IV) no yields given].
