ChemInform Abstract

The substitution of bulky moieties R (R: alkyl, aryl) in Si—B—C—N preceramic polymers of type [B(C2H4Si(R)NH)3]n with low-weight entities and/or reactive moieties (R: H, (NH)0.5) results in significantly increased ceramic yields during the polymer-to-ceramic conversion. These materials are stable against oxidation.
