ChemInform Abstract

Starting from the commercially available bromoarene (I), a high yielding synthesis of the CDG ring (VIII) of diazonamide is described. Furthermore, introduction of the 2-chlorosubstituent [cf. (XI) and (XIII)] is achieved, which may allow useful transformation of the skeleton.
