ChemInform Abstract

The following five ternary compounds are prepared by arc melting of the elements and subsequent annealing at 870 K (600 h) and their structures are determined: YAg5.2Al6.8 (ThMn12 type structure, space group I4/mmm), Y1.8Ag8.3Al8.7 (Th2Ni17 type, P63/mmc), Y8Ag19.4Al46.6 (Yb8Cu17Al49 type, I4/mmm), YAg2.5Al2.7 (DyAg2.4Al2.6 type, P63/mmc), and Y3Ag1.5Al9.5 (La3Al11 type, Immm).
