ChemInform Abstract

Disaccharides (I) bearing a glycosyl donor and an acceptor unit bridged on both 6-positions by a molecular clamp are subjected to intramolecular glycosylation. The phthaloyl bridge provides a highly α-selective reaction, whereas the use of a silyl bridge leads to good β-selectivity.
