ChemInform Abstract

A pair of syn diol isomers like (IV) (precursor of NK-104) is obtained by diastereoselective reduction of (II) followed by diastereomeric resolution. The synthesis of a pair of anti diol isomers like (X) is accomplished effectively by the asymmetric aldol reaction followed by anti stereoselective reduction as key steps (no yields given).
