The new title cyclooctaphosphate (IV) crystallizes in the monoclinic system (sp. gr. C2/m, Z = 2). Its framework consists of P8O248- rings derived from eight PO4 tetrahedra which are linked by MnO6 octahedra and star-shaped KO8 units.
