The title tricycles (V) are prepared by intramolecular alkylation of mesylated hydroxyethyl purinediones (IV), which are obtained from the corresponding N-hydroxyethyl nitrosopyrimidines (I) by reduction and cyclization with orthocarboxylate (III).
