ChemInform Abstract
Single crystals of the title compound are prepared by a modified flux method reported recently. The compound crystallizes in the tetragonal space group P4/mmm with Z = 1. The structure is closely related to that of the parent YBa2Cu3O7 compound. The apical O atom in the (Cu,Co)O square pyramid is closer to the Cu,Co site than in the parent compound, while the distance between the basal O atoms and the Ba2+ cations is longer.
