ChemInform Abstract

A new C-C bond formation reaction by coupling of tetrahydropyridines (I) and (IV) with compounds bearing activated methyl groups (II) is described. The reaction gives the corresponding acyl- or nitromethylidene derivatives (III) and (V) with a preference to the E-isomer.
