ChemInform Abstract

A study relating to the effect of the C-6 substituent in the title carbapenem is performed. Other side-chain variants are prepared in a similar fashion as derivative (IX). It is shown that the 6-(R) hydroxyethyl group is optimal for the desired biological activity ( some yields not given).
