ChemInform Abstract

Titration of a dry polystyrene diphenylphosphine with an iodine solution provides a polymeric phosphine-iodine complex which is an effective condensing agent for the phosphorylation of nucleosides. The reaction is regiospecific towards the primary hydroxyl group (cf. (IIb) ), and the inversion of the configuration at C-3′, unlike Mitsunobu reaction, is avoided.
